ARTIFACT ACTIVITY

Each group has been given an artifact produced by the extensive technological system that sustained nuclear deterrence and civil defense. Your task, in your groups, is to decide what we can learn from evaluating the artifact itself. Your discussion should proceed in three phases, as described below.

 

1. Describe – Identify at least three (3) relevant features of your artifact

3. Assess – Sources have creators and audiences; what can we learn about them from the artifact?

3. Evaluate – What does the artifact reveal about the larger context that produced it?
